La Gritona Reposado Tequila (750ml)

La Gritona Tequila is produced by Melly Barajas, at her small distillery in Valle de Guadalupe, Jalisco. Melly is one of the only female distillery owners in the world of Tequila and every step of production takes place under one roof and is done from start to finish by a small group of women. Crafted according to traditional methods, the team begins with perfectly ripened agave plants, always with an age of between 8-10 years. The harvest is slow cooked in brick ovens and left to naturally ferment with ambient yeasts before being double-distilled in small pot stills. The new spirit is then aged for 8 months in old American oak barrels. The leftover agave is given to local farmers to use as cattle feed and the bottles are handblown from recycled Mexican glass.
