De Grendel Shiraz 2021 (750ml bottle)

The De Grendel Shiraz is a complex wine that has won numerous awards, including the highest Veritas award, namely Platinum, for the 2016 vintage. This wine is dark red, almost black in colour with ruby displaying at the edge. The nose is complex with pepper, coriander and crushed spice, fynbos and lavender vying for attention. The palate is multifaceted, exhibiting black and red berries, ripe bloodplums and cherries, supported by a smokey character of savoury charcuterie. The ending is delightfully long and suggests clove. This wine loves to be paired with lamb shank, roasts, Springbok, sausage and steak.
